Most of what fills a room was never really chosen. It was on sale, or it came in a gift box, or it matched the cushions. Over time a space fills up with things nobody remembers buying. OBJECT started from the opposite question: what if every object in your space was one you'd actually keep? That's why we make limited edition home decor in India, in small runs, with original designs and nothing from stock.
This is a short note on how we work, and why a small catalogue is the point, not a phase.
More choice hasn't made our spaces better
You can buy a coaster in ten thousand designs today. Most of them come from the same few stock libraries, printed on the same blanks, sold by a hundred stores at once. The result is a strange kind of sameness: endless options that all look alike.
We don't think the answer is more options. It's fewer, better ones. That's the idea behind slow design: take the time to draw something properly, make a small number of it, and let it stand on its own.
How limited edition home decor works at OBJECT
Every design starts as an original drawing, made in-house. No templates, no stock artwork, no AI-generated filler. Once a design is ready, it goes out in a limited run. When that run has had its moment, the design moves on and something new takes its place.

This does three things:
- Each design stays rare. You won't see the same print in ten other homes.
- We stay honest. If a design isn't good enough to be one of a few, it doesn't get made.
- The catalogue stays small. Five collections, chosen carefully, not five hundred listings.
Printed when you order, not before
We're a made to order brand. Your deskmat, mug or wall print is printed after you place the order, not pulled from a warehouse full of unsold stock.
That means a little more patience on delivery. In return, nothing is made that nobody wanted. There are no overflowing storerooms and no end-of-season clearance piles. It's one of the simplest ways to make sustainable home decor: only make what's already been chosen.

Mindful shopping, without the lecture
Mindful shopping gets talked about a lot, usually with a lot of guilt attached. We'd rather keep it simple. Buy fewer things. Buy things you like enough to keep. Let them stay.
A good object earns its place slowly. It's the mug you reach for first, the print you still notice months later, the mat that's been on your desk through three jobs. That's the bar we design to.
What "fewer" looks like in practice
Our catalogue is built around five collections:
- Original Objects: where the whole thing started.
- Minimal Objects: less, on purpose.
- Petty Objects: quietly opinionated, for the people who get it.
- Axomiya Objects: Assam, drawn fresh.
- Voiced Objects: words worth keeping close.
Each one is small by design. When something sells out, we'd rather draw something new than reprint the old one forever.
The few you keep
We're not trying to fill your home. We're trying to make the few things in it worth looking at twice. If that sounds like you, start with the first drop.
Frequently asked questions
Are OBJECT products really limited edition?
Yes. Each design is made in a limited run. Once a run ends, the design is retired and replaced with something new.
Why does delivery take a little longer?
Everything is printed after you order, so nothing sits unsold in a warehouse. The few extra days are part of making less waste.
Are the designs original?
Every design is drawn in-house. We don't use stock art or templates.
